St. Cletus Catholic School was established in 1978 to meet the elementary educational needs of the Gretna neighborhood. Now 47 years later, we educate students from 11 different zip codes.Tucked away in the neighborhood of Gretna Park, St. Cletus is a hidden gem. We have a beautiful campus and have implemented many measures to ensure that the students, faculty and staff are always safe and secure.
St. Cletus provides the foundation for future successes. Our students are accepted into 13 different top Catholic high schools in our New Orleans area. The beauty of an education at St. Cletus is that it is big enough to provide various opportunities for students to be involved, but small enough that each student is known. Our goal is through the mission of our Catholic faith, to grow with each child in body, spirit, mind and faith.Affiliations & Accreditation

We strive to create an environment rooted in the spirit of the Gospel—one that nurtures students as they grow into individuals who live out their faith in all areas of life. Our mission is to support the personal development of each student, helping them build strong character, sharpen their intellect, and grow in critical thinking. We foster a deep sense of Christian values, prepare students for future professional success, and encourage meaningful, respectful relationships among a diverse student body. At St. Cletus we do this through:- Daily prayers, readings, and intentions
- Weekly school Mass for grades Pre-K 4 through Seventh
- Monthly Adoration and Benediction
- Seasonal Living Rosary, Stations of the Cross, May Crowning, Sacraments of Reconciliation ad Eucharist
- Student re-enactment of the Nativity and the Passion
- Strong parish, school, and community partnership
- Several mission-based fundraising opportunities offered regularly including Mission Fair, Trunk-or-Treat, and monthly food pantry collections
- Daily religion classes include safe environment topics for students taught by dedicated and qualified religion teachers

Lunch Program
All students are served a hot lunch provided by the Archdiocese Food Services Program in our school cafeteria. Free or reduced lunch is available to students who qualify. Breakfast is served between 7:20am and 7:40am.

Before Care & After CareBefore and After Care services are offered five days a week. They are supervised and offered at a nominal fee.
Children in Before & After Care will have the opportunity to complete homework assignments and participate in outdoor or indoor games and free-time.- Before school care is available from 6:30am to 7:20am.
- After school care is available from 3:15pm to 6:00pm.

School UniformsAt St. Cletus, we wear uniforms on a daily basis to create a more focused, inclusive, and respectful learning environment where attention is placed on education rather than appearance.Uniforms may be purchased only at the Skobel's Uniform Store in Gretna, LA.
